‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’, potentially one of the most descriptive titles in history, immediately and viscerally sets the tone of this Pulitzer Prize-winning play.

Martin McDonagh is a British-Irish screenwriter, director, and one of the most acclaimed playwrights of our time whose body of work spans over two decades.  As a playwright he is celebrated for his absurdist black humor and incendiary spirit that challenges the modern theatre aesthetic.

Allison Rich will be joining the full time staff of San Jose Stage as our new Associate Artistic Director.

Sam Shepard's 74th birthday, for us at San Jose Stage November 5th will become an annual day of celebration.  Shepard transformed the landscape of American Theatre, his passing in July of this year left a hole in the theatre community yet his words and impact live on through his masterful works.   

 San Jose Stage is thrilled to extend their mission of developing new works by partnering with SJSU to present the staged readings of The Repeating Arms of Sarah Winchester & Gunpowder Joe (Dec 4 & 5).
