Slyly adapted by playwright Jennifer Le Blanc, “Persuasion” rings with Austen’s customary elegance and wit, the spirit of independent thinking that made her one of the greatest novelists of her day.

Jane Austen’s famed final novel comes to the Stage Theatre in this world-premiere production of the romantic drama Persuasion. Adapted by Jennifer Le Blanc, Austen’s witty and emotionally stirring classic finds the lovely Anne Elliot crossing paths with her former beau, Captain Wentworth, whose proposal she’d spurned several years before under the influence of her image-conscious family. Once a poor sailor, Wentworth has returned a wealthy and eligible bachelor — but neither are willing to admit their true feelings for one another, until another man takes a liking to Anne.
